A GPS Guide For Life (Poem)
61
A GPS Guide For Life…
I would like to be the inventor
Of a GPS Guide for Life…
So we could program where we want to be
Then follow the
directions and avoid the strife.
And should we take off in the wrong direction,
The GPS would let us know,
Then recalculate to guide us back
To the right path
that we should go.
It could tell us how to get ahead
By taking us down the quickest road;
And if we wanted to move a bit slower—
The back roads path
to us would show.
There would be no unexpected challenge
Or any surprises that slow our ride,
There would be only a guided trail
Until it tells us
that we have arrived.
If we all used the GPS Guide for Life
There would be no point for us to decide,
Which is the right path and which is wrong—
But also no reason
for us to take pride.
Life should always be an adventure—
And we all have to make our own mistakes;
With every wrong road we learn a lesson--
The choices made for
our own soul’s sake.

Love the photo...the poem is interesting, but I have mixed feelings about the final message. I am so sick of struggling...it would be really nice to have a guide to a smooth and easy path just for the novelty of it. ;-)
Kudos on a well-written piece, though!
Sir, I liked your poem "A GPS Guide For Life". I request you to allow me to print this poem with due reference to you, in my thesis work on GPS. Thank You.
A very topical poem for the modern day youth .In some situatios in life ,one's own Conscience it self acts as the GPS .It becomes the Inward Monitor .Just as a GPS function depends finally on the network of Satellites ,so in life too we require several wellwishers to make our own GPS system functional for us .!

I really like this poem. You bring up an interesting subject. We all come to that fork in the road at sometime in our life don't we? Good job.
