A Once In A Lifetime Love (Poem)
63
There is a love that one never
gets over
No matter how many others
are to follow;
And although the hearts may
take different paths,
Each new road inevitably
proves to be hollow.
As the years go by their
lives go on,
But the light within them
becomes more stale;
And no matter how long they
search for new love,
The happiness is but a
shadow pale.
But the connection cannot be
constrained forever,
The love that had endured
for years unspoken,
Soon the recognition will
come to awaken afresh,
That the bond once made can
never be broken..
Finally the hearts seek one
another again,
For each life is incomplete
without the other;
And no matter how far they
have drifted apart,
The connection will bring
them together as lovers.
There can be no greater joy
in our lives,
Than the bond that comes
from our love again found;
And all of the suffering we
both have endured
Has been worth the promise
that our love will abound!

Good job, Christine. I can tell this came from your heart.
Keep up the good work. Don't forget to proof out loud. Sometimes I forget. It really helps!

Sharyn
you seem to be reflecting exactly wher I am in life..
Another gem.Loved this poem and i agree with you even if lovers part ways, love doesn't die. It may lie dormant but remains there forever.
