Christopher Columbus and His Close Encounter With A UFO

Ship’s Log of Admiral Christopher Columbus dated Thursday, October 11, 1492: “. . . After sunset steered their original course west and sailed twelve miles an hour till two hours after midnight, going ninety miles, which are twenty-two leagues and a half; and as the Pinta was the swiftest sailer, and kept ahead of the Admiral, she discovered land and made the signals which had been ordered. The land was first seen by a sailor called Rodrigo de Triana, although the Admiral at ten o'clock that evening standing on the quarter-deck saw a light, but so small a body that he could not affirm it to be land; calling to Pero Gutierrez, groom of the King's wardrobe, he told him he saw a light, and bid him look that way, which he did and saw it; he did the same to Rodrigo Sanchez of Segovia, whom the King and Queen had sent with the squadron as comptroller, but he was unable to see it from his situation. The Admiral again perceived it once or twice, appearing like the light of a wax candle moving up and down, which some thought an indication of land . . .”
The three ships that Columbus sailed to the Americas were located in what is now referred to as the Bermuda Triangle when this sighting took place. He is referring to himself as, “The Admiral.” He was standing on the deck of the ship he was on, The Santa Maria when he saw this strange and reoccurring light. It would be another two hours before land was actually sighted, so what he saw was over the water and not land.
Scientists and archeologists believe that what Columbus witnessed was a UFO coming out of the water, maneuvering in front of his ship, and then eventually shooting off into the atmosphere. It was probably not the first time an unexplained light was seen in this area, and it sure wouldn’t be the last. The nonchalantness Columbus seemed to have when writing in his ship’s log about the event indicates that perhaps this was not the first time he had experienced something of this nature.
Christopher Columbus was not the only early explorer who witnessed a UFO. In 1676 the astronomer, Edmund Halley (the discoverer of the Halley's Comet), reported seeing a large unidentified object that was bigger than the moon. He said it was about 40 miles above him and that it sounded as if it rattled as a cart moving over stones. He calculated it was moving at a speed faster than 9,600 mph
UFOs have been reported by many credible people for thousands of years. it is amazing to me that there are still some people who don't believe that we have been visited by life from other planets. Another thing that is curious is that every time Hollywood depicts our encounter with alien beings, they are destructive. If aliens wanted to destroy life on Earth they have had centuries to do it, and they haven't yet.
