Winter (Poem)

It’s difficult to deny
The beauty of the snow
That covers every blade and branch
And sets the landscape aglow.
It's difficult to repress
The joy snow seems to bring
To children laden down with clothes
Rolling snowballs then letting them fling!
It’s difficult to suppress
The emotional swell enhanced
When sitting in front of a windowpane
Watching snowflakes drift and dance.
It’s difficult to explain
To someone who has not grown up
Creating snow angels while at play
Why we would choose a white landscape
Over the heat of a summer’s day.

Lovely poem, Christine...I can see the attraction...now if only snow came in a 'warm' variety... ... ... ;-)
You and I have opposite weather preferences, I know, but I still loved the poem. Voted up!!
very nice...luv the pic!...for me, waking up in a warm, cozy home, to a new snowfall is always so peaceful
Very nice, thank you

Christine, your poem does a great job of explaining the wonder snow. Having grown up in Alaska, I completely understand choosing a snowy day over a hot summer day. I hate the heat. Give me cold! Voted up and awesome.
